Welcome to the carbon monoxide thread within the chemical exposure topic section of our online chat forums. Steigerwalt & Associates would like to provide you with some basic information regarding exposure to carbon monoxide and invite you to add to the discussion with your own viewpoints and experiences, as the more we learn about the dangers of exposure to this substance as a society, the safer we will all be as a result of that knowledge.

Carbon monoxide is a gaseous substance that, quite frankly, can kill a person if he or she is exposed to it for too long. In its natural form, carbon monoxide is colorless, tasteless and odorless, and it actually does present a tangible use for those who manufacture industrial chemicals.

However, humans who are exposed to carbon monoxide, or "CO," which is its scientific abbreviation, can suffer from extreme damage to their heart, central nervous system and respiratory systems. Prolonged exposure will ultimately lead to a shutdown of any or all of these systems, and that leads to death by carbon monoxide poisoning, which is one of the leading causes of death by poisoning in industrial society.

If you or someone you care about has suffered as a result of exposure to carbon monoxide, please contact the firm today to schedule a consultation. Otherwise, feel free to discuss your perspectives in this space.
