Welcome to the discussion thread of CCA within the toxic chemical exposure discussion section of Steigerwalt & Associates Legal Chat Online forums. We have put these forums together to provide some basic insight and facts for our visitors, as well as to provide a means for our visitors to obtain legal advice if they have been exposed to CCA or any other harmful substance that has led to damages and/or injuries.

We invite all of you to share your thoughts, knowledge and experiences in regards to CCA exposure, as the more information we're able to disseminate to the public, the better our chances are of minimizing the overall exposure levels of CCA to unsuspecting victims.

"CCA" stands for Chromated Copper Arsenate, and it's most commonly found in consumer products in several wood products it's used to treat in order to preserve the wood. This substance not only allows wood to keep for a longer period of time, but also prevents it from burning too quickly if it's set on fire.

CCA-treated wood, unfortunately, is found quite often in such products as playground equipment, deck wood and other common items which are near humans on a regular basis.

The biggest problem with CCA is the "A" - it stands for arsenic, which is a known toxin for human beings. Arsenic exposure can lead to what are frankly horrible injuries and, if the exposure to arsenic is prolonged, an extremely painful death.

If you have been exposed to CCA and have suffered as a result, please contact the firm immediately to schedule an initial consultation. Of course, you are also welcome to post your perspectives within this forum, and we look forward to serving you.
