Welcome to the online forum that's been built by Steigerwalt & Associates, a law firm with decades of experience in helping those who have been harmed by exposure to dangerous chemical substances. If you are visiting our lead paint exposure thread, then it's possible that you have been exposed to this toxic substance. Our online community exists for the following reasons:

1. To provide a means of contacting our firm in order to explore your legal options if you have been exposed to and harmed by lead paint.

2. To offer insight and basic information in regards to lead paint and where it's generally found.

3. To invite other visitors to share their thoughts, experiences and knowledge in regards to lead paint, as the more we know as a society in regards to toxic substances, the less likely the prevalence of harmful exposure will continue.

Lead paint was extremely common in the mid-20th Century, as when lead is injected into paint, it simply performs better - it lasts longer, looks better, resists the effects of moisture and is less likely to corrode.

However, the lead that's present in this paint, as it's been discovered, also leads to serious harm in humans, particularly in children, as the effects of lead paint exposure are staggering. Prior reports of the effects of exposure to lead paint include damage to the nervous system, the stunting of growth in children, kidney damage and potential harm to every organ in the human body.

In general, lead paint has been eliminated from household products, and several lawsuits have been filed in recent years in order to hold the large paint companies accountable for passing this harmful product into the consumer's buying habits.

If you have been harmed by exposure to lead paint, contact the firm immediately. Otherwise, welcome to our community, and we look forward to sharing your perspectives with everyone here.
